Design Concept
Drawing on Xinmi’s local landforms, including canyons and terraced terrain, the project establishes an overall spatial framework of one ravine, one pool, and one valley. It integrates the site’s native natural character with seasonal change and contemporary urban life.
The design adopts a low-intervention yet forward-looking artistic language. Fluid curves soften the limitations of the elongated site, while pure white walls shape a sequence of turning spaces with rich sensory variation. Light and art are woven into a canyon-like landscape realm, allowing visitors to rediscover the vitality and appeal of future-oriented residential environments through an immersive encounter with nature.
Key Landscape Design
Canyon Gateway
Centered on rhythmic white walls, the entrance rises from layered tree planters and extends into a narrow tunnel concealed within lush planting. The minimalist white palette blends with the natural setting, while light, shadow, and reed grasses create a quiet and purified atmosphere. Scene-setting elements such as deer sculptures introduce a sense of wonder, establishing a mysterious and imaginative threshold to the landscape.
Canyon Passage
Carefully calibrated turning radii and pathway lengths maximize shifts in perspective along the route. White walls, together with light, subtle color transitions, and refined material textures, form a multidimensional immersive corridor where nature and art unfold through movement.
Terraced Meadow
Responding to the site’s level changes, terraced lawns soften the topographic transition and open into a broad, poetic field. Landscape details such as the water-inspired “leaping whale” installation strengthen the organic connection among architecture, landscape, and nature, evoking a sense of unadorned wilderness and quiet openness.
Rear Valley Shallows
The rear court of the sales center also serves as a leisure clubhouse garden. Continuing the narrative of the canyon retreat, sculptural planters and layered reflecting pools reinterpret the imagery of a shallow stream valley. At the highest point of the site, waterfront lounge seating is arranged with soft lighting, creating a poetic setting for viewing, resting, and conversation.
Design Summary
The project directly addresses the site’s narrow configuration and restricted views. Taking natural landforms as its conceptual foundation, it deeply integrates artistic expression with practical spatial function. Through curvilinear spatial organization, a pure white architectural landscape language, and carefully staged narrative scenes, the design transforms a disadvantaged site into a highly recognizable urban canyon landscape, achieving a sequence of compression and release with a far-reaching poetic atmosphere.
The project establishes a renewed relationship among architecture, landscape, nature, and people. It not only reveals the site’s inherent value, but also conveys the warmth of an ideal waterfront residential lifestyle, completing a meaningful transformation from an ordinary plot into a refined landscape retreat.
